. . . when neither side is thrilled with it.  Last week’s L.A. Times carries the story about Blue Shield of California settling claims brought against it by the state of California alleging systematic wrongful rescission of health insurance policies.  The spate of cases brought against California health insurers by state and local governments as well as by consumers for improper cancellation of insurance policies is a long way from being over. And, according to the article, both sides of this settlement feel they gave away too much. Sometimes that’s a good indicator that the settlement is a fair one.
