The Council for Affordable Health Insurance is a research and advocacy group made up of insurers promoting market solutions to problems in the U.S. healthcare system. It recently released its annual survey of the various state health insurance mandates that have been passed across the country. You can find the report here.
There is some interesting information in the survey. Based on the CAHI survey, the two most expensive mandates are those involving mental health parity and prescription drugs. They are followed by mandates involving in vitro fertilization and dental care. The state with the fewest mandates is Idaho. The state with the most? Minnesota.
